Join world renowned wildlife photographer and Canon Ambassador, Chris Fallows as we sit down to talk through his favourite images in this presentation, Creating my Fine Art Collection, the where, when and how. Chris will discuss getting to know his subjects, his favourite images and places and the techniques he uses. He will share memorable moments and how he uses his Fine Art works to raise awareness and funds for the conservation of these amazing species.

Chris Fallows Wildlife Photographer

Chris and his wife Monique live in Cape Town, South Africa

Chris started working with sharks in False Bay in 1989 and great whites in 1991. 

Together with a colleague Chris discovered the famous breaching behaviour at Seal Island.

Chris has led more than 2500 expeditions into False Bay to work with great whites and more than 300 expeditions offshore of Cape Point when working with pelagic sharks. 

Chris has worked at all the known high density great white locations globally.

In 1989 Chris started a shore based shark tagging program with local beach seine net fishermen that over the next 15 years tagged and released more than 5000 sharks, fish and rays.

Together with his wife Monique he founded Apex Shark Expeditions in 1999. 

Apex has facilitated more than 60 international documentary crews such as Planet Earth, Life ,Africa, Blue Planet and Discovery Channels Emmy nominated Air Jaws series now in it’s tenth edition. Chris has been a host on many of these shows.

Chris has written a book on False Bays great whites and authored and co authored 15 scientific papers and is currently involved in various research projects. 

The Apex team has catalogued more than 10400 predatory events at seal Island, the largest data base of it’s kind in the world.

In addition to the marine environment Chris & Monique spend upwards of two months each year in the wild and they have visited all 7 continents multiple times. 

Chris is an award winning wildlife photographer nowadays specialising in Limited Edition fine Art prints of iconic species from all three realms of Ocean , Air & Earth. 

The proceeds of the sale of the Chris’s photographs are used for the purchase of land for habitat restoration as well as donating to various wildlife causes involved in research and anti poaching.
