"This lens is often compared to the younger f/2 which I also own. I intended replacing my f/2 with this lens but I now intend to keep them both as they have their own own uses. In the real world both are very sharp and therefore any comparison really comes down to their other attributes. Yes this lens is slower and noiser to focus and does not have weather resistance, but it does have a unique character that can't quite be explained. Also that extra stop of light and restriction of depth of field is very useful for artistic purposes. For street and general use the f/2 is an excellent buy and some prefer its more clinical rendering. I like them both."
