The S-R1 adapter is designed to slide onto rectangular flash heads, offering a round magnetic mounting point. To prevent scratches, it's equipped with rubber mats with a gridded pattern on the inside, and has a knurled knob on top to securely adjust the fit around varying flash sizes.

With the help of the S-R1, the AK-R1 set (sold separately) can be swiftly used on units featuring rectangular flashes. Attach these to the adapter's front via magnets. Moreover, separately sold accessories provide access to modifiers such as barndoors, a dome, a honeycomb grid, a snoot, a bounce card, and gel filters.
