The BackLight 26L Photo Daypack has a rear-panel compartment enabling you to rapidly access your photo gear without taking off the backpack. You can change lenses or just snap a quick photo by simply by spinning the bag to the front of your body while the waist belt is still secured.

Rear-panel access also adds security when travelling since your camera gear is protected behind your back. This back loading backpack is ideal for carrying heavy gear for long distances and rear access reduces the contact with wet and dirt on back panel and shoulder harness when opening on the ground.

The BackLight 26L has 26 litres total carry capacity with 9 litres of daypack space for personal gear, including separate dedicated compartments for a 10" tablet and 15" laptop.

"The Backlight range of camera backpacks, are, in my opinion, almost perfect. – Having previously purchased a Backlight 36litre from Castle Cameras, and now needing a smaller pack for shorter duration, more project specific trips, I didn’t think twice about purchasing the Backlight 26litre. – Needless to say, and based upon my previous experience with them, I went straight to Castle Cameras. – They had the item in stock, at the best price I could find, and it was delivered (free of charge) within 24hrs! The Backlight range has everything a photographer needs from a backpack. Superb build quality, top quality materials, plenty of dividers provided (several more than actually needed in my case), reverse entry to the main equipment compartment for better security of camera equipment when being carried - and prevention of getting dirt on your clothing, very comfortable well padded waist belt & shoulder straps, rain cover supplied, top quality zips, etc. etc. The packs have in-built tripod "centre carry" carrying facility, or a tripod can easily be carried in the more usual way of using either of the two well-proportioned side pockets and upper side-straps. Like other models in the range, the 26litre has a voluminous zipped front pocket which will easily take a couple of outer rain wear garments etc.. That pocket has an internal divider for laptop or tablet, with several smaller pockets for such things as pens or any typically small non-bulky items. On the front of the large pocket, is a second, smaller, but still very usable and useful zipped storage pocket. If I had to quibble about anything at all relating to the Backlight range of packs, it would be the upper side-straps. They are intended to allow better access to the quite voluminous front pocket on the pack, whilst reducing the possibility of spilling any of its contents. However, they are also used when securing side carried tripods. They are attached in such a way that if access is needed to the large front pocket, they have to be unclipped, thus leaving a side-carried tripod temporarily solely reliant on the side pocket for its retention. – Not a deal breaker by any means. – I have never had my tripod fall out whilst accessing the large front pocket. – But it is something to be aware of, and I do think that the fixing points of those two side straps could have been better placed. – That minor quibble having been said, my two Backlight backpacks are by far the best camera gear backpacks I have ever owned. – And believe me, over the years I have owned quite a few!"
