The Sigma 35mm f2 DG DN Contemporary’s focal length is perfect for travel, street, wedding, family and wide-angle portrait photography, as well as general day-to-day shooting.

It is portable enough to be carried around for casual day-to-day shooting, but thanks to its outstanding optics, F2 aperture, fast AF and impressive build, it’s equally well-suited to heavy professional use.

Its sleek, all-metal body includes a metal focus ring, a metal aperture ring, a metal lens hood, and even a metal lens cap that attaches to the lens magnetically. The lens is essentially designed for photographers and film-makers who value the experience of taking a picture just as much as the quality of the final result.

Perfect for wide-angle portraits

The lens’ fast aperture of F2 makes it possible to achieve a shallow depth-of-field for blurry backgrounds. This allows photographers to isolate their subject and create more impactful images. The bokeh is smooth and attractive, so doesn’t distract from the in-focus subject.

The bright aperture is also very useful when using the lens hand-held in low light, such as at a wedding, because it reduces the risk of camera shake.

Its 10 elements in 9 groups include 3 aspherical elements and 1 SLD element, which help keep the lens compact while greatly reducing the appearance of chromatic aberration around areas of high contrast.

Vignetting is very minimal even wide-open, and the lens has advanced optical coatings to reduce flare and ghosting when working in bright direct sun.

Made in Japan

All Sigma cameras and lenses are designed, manufactured and assembled at their sole factory at Aizu in Japan. This domestic production model is unusual in today’s industry, with most imaging companies opting to outsource to other countries to reduce costs.
