Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III VXD G2 lens for Nikon Z 

The 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 lens delivers outstanding optical performance in the full frame standard zoom lens category alongside its compact design for ease of handling, making it ideal for the latest high pixel count mirrorless cameras.

The AF drive uses a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear focus mechanism that is fast, highly accurate and quiet. The lens also excels at close-up shooting, achieving an MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.18m (7.1in) at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7.

Additionally, the lens design takes operability into consideration by including a coating with excellent scratch resistance on the barrel of the lens and a rubber focusing ring for a comfortable, secure grip. 

For those working outside, the Moisture Resistant construction has seals through the switches and moving parts of the lens to give great weather protection alongside the fluorine coatings on the front element, which give both great protection and make the lens element easy to clean.

Customization is also possible with Tamron’s Lens Utility program to set the integrated button for a number of advanced features.

Fluorine Coating

Fluorine Coating protects the front lens from contamination. It prevents oil and water droplets from sticking to the surface. Fingerprints and dirt are easier to remove.

Internal Focusing (IF) System

Internal Focus – Internal focusing prevents the barrel from extending and rotating during focusing. The lens is easier to handle and is suitable for use with polarising or gradation filters.

XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) Glass

Extra-Low Dispersion – XLD elements have particularly low colour dispersion index. They reduce chromatic aberrations that appear as colour fringes on the contrast edges and reduce image sharpness.

MR - Moisture Resistant Construction

The lens is splash-resistant. All critical areas have special seals. Lenses with this feature are ideal for outdoor use in bad weather.

Zoom Lock (ZL) Mechanism

The ZL mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the tube during transport. The lock, which is activated by a switch, protects the lens from damage and at the same time guarantees that it is quickly ready for use.

VXD Autofocus

Voice-Coil Extreme-Torque Drive – The VXD autofocus guarantees fast and precise focusing on both near and far objects. The quiet focus motor responds at lightning speed and is particularly suitable for images of moving objects.
